This year, tickets can be purchased here online (available until May 4th) or at All About Mail (Chinook Plaza in Scappoose, Oregon) or by contacting ReAnna Sharp. Twenty tickets from each date have been specifically reserved to sell locally through All About Mail, making only twenty from each week available online--purchase now to get your preferred date.
Come join us for our annual spring cleaning. Joined by the Scappoose members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, members of the Scappoose Historical Society spend the day spring cleaning both the inside and outside of the Watts House Museum. Bring a sack lunch (water and soda provided) and your gardening gloves and tools. We'll be planting flowers and bushes, laying bark and cleaning and trimming outside. The clean-up runs from 9 am to 12 pm. Come and have some fun! May May 9th & 16th. Spring Tea. Our annual Spring Tea, actually a three course luncheon, is now on its 9th year! Held every year at the Watts House Pioneer Museum in Scappoose, this event is often used as a chance for women to get together and have an enjoyable afternoon with friends, but don't let that discourage you fellows--you're always welcome! Extemely popular, many of our attendees return every year as part of their Mother's Day celebrations. Past years have included musical performances, storytellers and fashion shows. Also, as part of the fun, a drawing will be held for a small gift. A tour follows for those who wish to see the Museum. The food is always delicious and the service wonderful, so be sure to make this event a part of your year. (Please see the ticket information listed under April's events.) The museum will be closed to the general public on the Saturdays of the Spring Tea
August 15th. Summer Daze Car Show. Come participate in our annual vintage and specialty car and truck show. We'll have the Watts House Museum open for tours and live music by Freedom Street. There'll be vendors with tasty food and a large variety of vehicles to view. With many awards for the car owners, a 50/50 drawing and a raffle, you may just find yourself taking home a prize along with some great memories. Past participant showings have included antique and vintage English-made cars, military and public service vehicles, and restored peddle cars. Held in Heritage Park (downtown Scappoose) from 11 AM to 4 PM. To purchase online: Simply click on the "Register" button below. You will be taken to a secure window in PayPal. (You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay with PayPal.) Adjust the quantity for the number of cars to be registered and follow the checkout instructions to pay with echeck or credit card. If you have any questions, please contact ReAnna Sharp prior to registering. Please don't forget to fill out the registration form and send it in! (Link above.) September Sauerkraut Festival. Hosted by the Scappoose Community Club. Vendors, live bands, and many activities will be available. Come join the fun. This year's event will be held September 19th. October Harvest the Memories. This is the fall fundraiser for the Scappoose Historical Society--but we don't want your money! We're looking for historic images to include in our archives. While we accept donations of actual photographic prints, we recognize that not everyone wants to part with their own photos, and we don't blame you! Our archive collection also includes digital images--and that's what we're asking for. Bring your historic photos from the Scappoose area (prior to 1950) to the Watts House Pioneer Museum for scanning. We will professionally scan them at archival levels and then, as money permits, have them digitally restored. This way the heritage of the area is not lost in the event of disaster or citizens moving to other areas and it will be available to all. Can't make it on the designated days? Have more than just a few photos? Set up an appointment with us. It's that important. Bonne Bouche.
This year's gathering will be held between 2 and 5 pm on Sunday, October 25th. You can come any time during the open hours to enjoy your choice in dessert. Each dessert ticket is only $5 and can be purchased online or by contacting a member of the Scappoose Historical Society. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Bring your dessert ticket to exchange for your choice in dessert. Want more than one dessert? Purchase as many dessert tickets as you would like to exchange for desserts. Remember to bring a friend! To purchase online: Simply click on the "Tickets" button below. You will be taken to a secure window in PayPal. (You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay with PayPal.) Adjust the quantity for the number of dessert tickets to be purchased and follow the checkout instructions to pay with echeck or credit card. If you have any questions, please contact ReAnna Sharp prior to purchasing. November November 30th. Lighting of the Watts House. The outside Christmas lights on the Museum will be turned on. Join us for Christmas carols and visits with Santa. December December 5th - 28th. Holiday Tours. The Watts House Pioneer Museum will be completely decorated for the Christmas season. Each year is different so be sure to come see this years decor!
