About Us

The Scappoose Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1974.

We are dedicated to preserving and restoring the Watts House Pioneer Museum located in

Scappoose, Oregon.

The Society is always searching for historical data. We actively collect, preserve and restore artifacts, records, photographs and individual histories of the pioneers who built Scappoose and the surrounding areas.

Our members are active in the Society and our Community. Hosted events include:

  • Annual Springtime Teas in May

  • Fall Harvest Luncheon in August

  • Old Fashioned Christmas Party

  • Christmas visits with Santa

We also partner with other Community organizations and participate in the Annual Spring Clean Up Day in April and the annual Christmas Lighting in Heritage Park in November.

You will find more information and links to these activities under our Events page.

Enjoy walking with us through time!
